PRM, TNC and Safety

Safety charge

As of January 1st, 2021 the safety charge will amount to DKK 4.75.

The safety charge was introduced by the Danish Transport Authority in 2013. The charge covers the costs of the Transport Authority's supervision of civil aviation. With the implementation of the safety charge, the Transport Authority's previous fees and charges collected under the Danish Air Navigation Act will no longer apply. The new charge will be collected by the Transport Authority on a monthly basis.

Section 148 of the Danish Air Navigation Act defines who is to pay the safety charge and for which passengers the safety charge is payable.

Section 148: (1) For the performance of the supervision of civil aviation by the Danish Transport Authority, airlines must pay a charge of DKK 4.75 for each passenger carried. The charge is payable for passengers travelling on aircraft approved for more than 10 passenger seats, or which have a maximum take-off weight of more than 5,700 kg, and which depart from a Danish airport open for public use for air transport, cf. however, subsection (2) below.

(2) The charge set out in (1) above will not be payable for passengers under two years of age, transit and transfer passengers and the airline's staff travelling for business purposes.
